Fireside and waterside gaskets are engineered from completely different material properties to handle the separate environments within a boiler system:
Fireside Gaskets: Positioned along the combustion side (such as front and rear doors or burner mounts), these components are manufactured from high-temperature textiles, non-hazardous ceramic fibers, or specialized tadpole tapes. Their role is to contain extreme dry heat and block toxic flue gases.
Waterside Gaskets: Positioned around pressurized water tracking lines, handholes, and manhole inspection plates, these parts utilize compression-molded elastomers, wire-reinforced woven compounds, or graphite. Sealing options like premium Topog-E®, BLUE-MAX®, or BLACK-MAX® gaskets are specifically chosen to hold back high-pressure water and steam while resisting chemical treatments.
